Jessica Kneefel is a contemporary visual artist based in Denver, Colorado. Her practice centers on painting and photography, with occasional forays into mixed media and sculptural elements. Her work navigates realism, abstraction, and surrealist influences, using color, symbolism, and form to explore perception, emotion, and internal experience.

Kneefel began painting at a young age alongside her grandfather, whose curiosity and experimentation with materials played a formative role in shaping her creative foundation. This early influence continues to inform her intuitive, exploratory approach to making.

Rather than working within a single series, Kneefel’s current practice focuses on one-off, independent works that allow for flexibility, risk-taking, and experimentation. Guided by observation and intuition, she increasingly incorporates surrealist elements that distort or reframe familiar subjects, allowing each piece to develop on its own terms.

Kneefel earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in Painting from the University of Northern Colorado and continues to develop her practice through studio-based work in Denver while remaining engaged with the local creative community.
